Cortina already a winner: tribune and Audi Cortina Lounge sold out for Saturday and Sunday

Three thousand people a day will gather on Olympia delle Tofane to enjoy the spectacular World Cup.

And there's a last-minute rush for places on Friday and in the finish area.

The 2018 Ladies’ Alpine Ski World Cup in Cortina is already a winner. Two days before the first race (the first of the two downhill competitions is scheduled for Friday at 10.15) the Organising Committee, Fondazione Cortina 2021, has announced that places in the tribune and the Audi Cortina Lounge, the VIP area located at the finish at Rumerlo, are completely sold out for Saturday and Sunday. There are still some places for Friday and the finish area.

It has been estimated that around 3000 people a day will flock to the tribune and finish area for the two race days this weekend. This success has also been made possible thanks to the partnership between the Fondazione, Dolomiti Bus and Cassa Rurale ed Artigiana di Cortina d'Ampezzo e delle Dolomiti to provide transport for 800 youngsters from all the schools in the province of Belluno to the competition. And the "fan buses" linking Feltre with the finish area of the Olympia course have been a hit, too.

The Audi Cortina Lounge is in great demand among companies and tour operators, who have organised corporate events and stays for their top clients during the race days, so they can enjoy the beautiful scenery from its terrace overlooking the Ampezzo valley.

The numbers of what is shaping up to be a truly memorable competition are also confirmed by the statistics of the World Cup social networks: over the past 7 days, visits have increased 645% and the pages have registered over 8000 fans. A lot of these fans will gather on Olympia to celebrate this spectacular sports event featuring the top athletes on the international circuit and the many special guests.
